Hi! I have set up access to Follett's Lightbox ebooks which are amazing. They have over 1000 titles that are all non-fiction and include embedded videos, and other interactive features. They usually cost about $40 a piece to access so I am grateful for Follett to be offering free access through June 2020.
If you find titles that you really love that help you teach your standards and would like me to purchase for our collection for next year, please let me know and I will do that. Have fun exploring! You might find just the right one for what you are teaching this quarter.
Password: follett Students at Murdock enjoyed having readers from our community come read to them. Five students from Hightower Trail Middle School read to classrooms. Pope High School students did Skype reading sessions. Mr. Banks visited Mrs. Frazier's third grade class and read two books to her students.
The Leader in Me door decorating contest was a blast. Students were excited to come up with a book, Leader in Me trait, and come up with creative ways to show that trait in their book. Here are the grade level winners' doors.
Students had a great time coming to the Library Learning Commons to do Dr. Seuss themed centers. Students put together puzzles, used cups to make the tallest Cat in the Hat hat they could, played memory and I Can Do That, participated in themed dress up each day and grade level trivia contests each day.
